Fearless Palestinian women rise against Israeli occupation

More and more young Palestinian women are participating in protests against the Israeli regime as tensions keep soaring across the occupied territories following a surge of deadly atrocities against Palestinians during the past few days. Despite facing Israeli soldiers’ rubber bullets, tear gas, stun grenades and even live fire, young Palestinian women rid their fear of detention and abuse to join the front lines along with males and challenge the presence of the intruders.

They also suffer casualties in their efforts towards liberation of their motherland from occupiers. A young pregnant woman was killed along with her three-year-old daughter in Israeli airborne aggression on the besieged Gaza Strip on Saturday while Israeli man shot and seriously injured a Palestinian woman in al-Quds on Wednesday.

“We make up half of society. We also have the right to defend our country," said a Palestinian female student, wearing the traditional keffiyeh, during a face-off with the Israeli military at a checkpoint outside the West Bank city of Ramallah, AFP reported.

Report: Muslim Migrants Raping Women & Children at German Refugee Camp

Report: Muslim Migrants Raping Women & Children at German Refugee Camp

An explosive document released by top social welfare organizations in Germany reveals evidence that migrants at a refugee camp in Hessen are raping women and children, while also allegedly forcing women into prostitution. The document was made public by LFR (Landesfrauenrat) Hessen, Der Paritätische Hessen, Pro Familia Hessen and the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Hessischer Frauenbüros.

It asserts that women and children at a migrant camp in Hessen are being sexually molested by Muslim “refugees” on such a regular basis that they are afraid to go to the bathroom at night and have to remain fully clothed when they sleep.

Women who are not accompanied by men are considered easy prey, with some allegedly being forced into prostitution. The groups behind the letter are calling for women and children to be segregated from male migrants.

Infowars talked to German correspondent Alexander Benesch who translated the document and confirmed its content.

“This is an open letter from a few big organizations to the government of Hessen (one of the 16 regional parts of Germany),” wrote Benesch. “It is about an internment facility in Hessen where they initially put the refugees for further processing. It mentions a lack of security for women and children, leading to rape, molestation and (reportedly but not verified) forced prostitution.”

Benesch added that the groups who released the document, “count among the biggest organizations of their kind,” and that Pro Familia Hessen is a “household name” in Germany.

Dispatches: US Gives Brushoff to Women and Girls Raped in War

Dispatches: US Gives Brushoff to Women and Girls Raped in War

The United States plays a critical role in protecting the human rights of women and girls affected by war by raising concerns internationally and funding programs that aid sexual violence survivors. But – and it’s a very big but – the 1973 Helms amendment to the US Foreign Assistance Act undermines much of this important work. Yesterday, instead of choosing to reinterpret the amendment in a manner protective of women’s rights, the US government said it will stand by the law, as is.

It’s a reality that some women and girls subjected to rape in conflict become pregnant by their perpetrators. Healthcare providers funded by the US are limited in how they can help these rape survivors because the Helms amendment prohibits the use of US funding for abortion “as a method of family planning.” This has been interpreted to prohibit abortion even in the case of rape.

Concerns about the detrimental impact of the Helms amendment on rape in conflict are regularly raised by humanitarian organizations, including by the service providers who struggle to give rape survivors the care they need.

Governments at the United Nations Human Rights Council recently raised this concern during the review of the US human rights record. The Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Belgium, among others, encouraged the US to clarify that the Helms amendment, in its implementation, should recognize that women and girls raped in conflict are not seeking to use abortions as family planning. This would allow US funding to support a comprehensive package of health care for women and girls in the aftermath of wartime rape, including abortions for those who need or choose this option.
