Two American news journalists have been shot dead during a live television news report in the state of Virginia, according to officials. Reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward from local CBS news station WDBJ were killed during an interview in Moneta, Bedford County on Wednesday.
Parker was 24 years old and Ward was 27 years old.
About eight gunshots were heard while the reporter and the cameraman were conducting the interview for WDBJ7. After the shooting, the camera dropped to the ground and the broadcast cut back to the anchor desk . The video captured an image of what is believed to be the suspected shooter before it cut away.
Parker was interviewing with Vicki Gardner, the local chamber of commerce director, on a balcony. Gardner was also shot and wounded.Read More »
